Swimming Pool Contractor in Ventura County & Los Angeles

Designing and building a swimming pool with RnD Builders, your swimming pool contractor, generally runs $90,000 to $200,000, depending on size, features and site conditions. Waterfalls, spas, lighting and the deck around the pool all affect the final number. Larger or more complex projects can run higher, while your written estimate confirms the exact price.

Clients can expect between 8 to 10 weeks for a completed swimming pool, and the exact timeline varies with the design and the features you add. In addition, design, 3D rendering and permit approval come first, and approval time depends on your city. We set a deadline after your consultation and stand by it.

A swimming pool contractor designs, builds, repairs and remodels pools, from excavation and construction to plumbing, lighting and finishing, and helps you choose the right style and features. RnD Builders is a licensed California general contractor, License #1081122, and you can verify it on the CSLB website. California requires a license for projects that need a permit or total $1,000 or more, so always ask any contractor for their license number.

Yes. We create fully detailed 3D renderings of your pool’s layout, including fixtures and other elements, so you can see it in your own yard. Also, you can revise the plans until every detail fits your ideal pool, and nothing is built until you approve.

Yes. A new pool is permitted work, and your city or county building department reviews the plans and inspects the work. We also handle the paperwork with local authorities and use our local experience to keep the review moving. In addition, ventura County and each Los Angeles County city have their own submittal rules, which we follow.

California requires new or remodeled pools and spas at a private single-family home to have at least two drowning-prevention safety features, such as an approved barrier with a self-latching gate, a safety cover, or door alarms. Your designer plans these features into the layout from the start.

We build fiberglass, formal, freeform, modern, infinity and saltwater pools, plus spas that can stand alone or attach to a pool. Also, waterfalls, jets, lighting and a fire pit next to the pool are common additions.

Ask your swimming pool contractor, because it depends on your budget, backyard space and long-term goals. Concrete pools are durable and highly customizable. Fiberglass pools install faster, are easy to maintain and hold up well to earthquakes. We explain both options at your consultation so you can choose with confidence.

Yes. In addition, spas, sheet or stone waterfalls, jets, lighting and a nearby fire pit can all be designed into the pool. Each feature is priced in your written estimate so you can see how it affects the total.

Yes. We can remodel an existing pool or start from the drawing board on a new one, and the same design and build teams work together on either. Your designer evaluates the pool and the yard on site before recommending a plan.

Site conditions such as access, soil and slope are reviewed on the first visit, and the features you choose are itemized in your estimate. We quote from the exact scope you approve and itemize it, so you can see where the money goes. Site conditions are checked on the first visit, and any change is agreed in writing before it is added, so the project stays in line with the budget agreed in your contract.

Yes. RnDOutdoors designs and builds the whole backyard, so the pool, deck, patio cover, outdoor kitchen and fencing are planned together under one contract.

A well-designed pool can make a backyard more usable and appealing, but the return depends on your neighborhood, the design and the quality of the build. We do not promise a specific resale amount.
